A Message to My Students
Please use google translate https://translate.google.com/ to read this message if you need help.
I hope all is well and you have been staying safe this week. This week, your teachers at Liberty High School have spent the past few days working to make sure you still learn in the midst of the school closure. I hope you are comforted to know that starting on Monday March 23rd, online learning will begin. Your teachers will post a lesson on the school website for you to access every day. You can find your assignments for my class, by choosing you class in the link above.
Please let me know if you have any issues accessing the link or need any help. I will typically post assignments by 3:00 pm every day and you will be expected to complete them by 3:00 pm the following day (I will tell you if this changes). Most assignments will be Google Forms (which are very easy to complete). The first assignment will be posted by Monday March 23rd. Please click the link above on that day to access to access the assignment.
I will not plan on having any scheduled video classes (I will let you know if this changes), but I will be available during school hours every day over email or on the Remind App. If you want to schedule a video call one-on-one conference I will be available to do so, just let me know.
I am writing to you here, but I have also texted you through the Remind App and emailed you. Please make sure to join the link I sent you over Remind so you have access to all updates. If you know of a student who is not included in the email or was not sent a Remind App invite, please forward them this website and share their contact information with me.
I know right now you may be feeling confused, scared, worried, or maybe even a little bored. I urge you not to be concerned. Remember, Coronavirus does not have a strong effect on young people. However, you do have a responsibility to stay in your homes as much as possible in order to keep your older friends and family members safe. Remember to wash your hands, drink a lot of water, eat vegetables and fruits, and try to get some exercise if you can! I am here for you if you need any help!
In this time, it is also very important that you keep up with your school work. This is NOT A VACATION. You must complete all assignments on time. It is your responsibility to reach out to me if you need help with the classwork/homework. You will receive grades and they will be published on Skedula. Research shows that missing 10 percent of the school (that’s just two days a month!) negatively affects a student’s academic performance. By being HERE every day you can continue to be successful in school!
Welcome to Ms. Finkelman's online classroom! Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions or need any help!
I WILL ANSWER ALL EMAILS AND TEXTS FROM THE HOURS OF 8:00 AM-5:00PM ON WEEKDAYS.
